Digimon Story: Time Stranger Listing Leaks Before PlayStation Showcase

Author : Patrick Mar 27,2025

A new installment in the beloved Digimon video game series, tentatively titled Digimon Story: Time Stranger, has seemingly been leaked through GameStop listings ahead of tonight's PlayStation State of Play presentation. The leak was first spotted by Gematsu, which shared pre-order links for the game on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Although the listings lack images and gameplay details, the timing suggests that an official announcement might be imminent.

This leak comes just hours before Sony's latest State of Play event, which is set to feature 40 minutes of content. While Sony has kept the lineup under wraps, the sudden appearance of pre-order listings for Digimon Story: Time Stranger hints that the digital monster series could be part of the show.

The Digimon Story series has a rich history that began with the original Digimon Story on the Nintendo DS in the mid-2000s. Since then, numerous titles have been released across various platforms, including notable entries like Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth in 2015 and Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory in 2017. These games were later bundled into a Complete Edition in 2019.

In these games, players are immersed in the Digimon universe, where they befriend and battle with the iconic monsters in RPG-style gameplay. Despite the franchise's producer Kazumashu Habu teasing a new Story game in 2022, fans have been eagerly awaiting a new entry. While Digimon Survive has helped bridge the gap, the potential reveal of Digimon Story: Time Stranger could mark the end of a long wait for a true continuation of the series.
