On April 16, the studio took to The Witcher's official X (formerly Twitter) account to alert the community about fraudulent invitations for a supposed beta test of the game. They emphasized that any legitimate future beta tests would be announced first through their official channels.
The scam warning came after the game's initial reveal at the Game Awards in December 2024, which stirred excitement with a trailer featuring Ciri as the new protagonist. This shift from the series' long-standing hero, Geralt, sparked varied reactions among fans.
