Destiny 2 Unveils Spooky Armor for Festival

Destiny 2's Festival of the Lost 2025: A Spooky Vote and Community Concerns

Destiny 2 players are gearing up for a chilling choice in the upcoming Festival of the Lost 2025 event. Bungie has unveiled two new armor sets, "Slashers" and "Spectres," inspired by iconic horror figures, and is letting the community decide which set will be available. This year's designs feature nods to Jason Voorhees, Ghostface, the Babadook, La Llorona, and even Slenderman. The losing "Wizard" armor from the 2024 event will also be made available during Episode Heresy.

The "Slashers" set boasts Titan and Hunter armor reminiscent of Jason and Ghostface, respectively, while Warlocks get a Scarecrow-inspired design. The "Spectres" set offers a Babadook-themed Titan armor, La Llorona for Hunters, and, for Warlock fans, an official Slenderman set.

While the new armor designs are generating excitement, the announcement has been met with mixed reactions within the Destiny 2 community. Many players are frustrated by ongoing bugs, declining player numbers, and a perceived lack of acknowledgement from Bungie regarding the current state of the game, particularly the issues encountered during Episode Revenant. The focus on an event still ten months away has only amplified these concerns. Despite fixes for many of Episode Revenant's problems, player engagement remains lower than usual. The broken tonics mechanic, for example, highlights a broader pattern of issues.

The Festival of the Lost event, with its player-driven armor selection, provides a fun distraction, but it does little to address the underlying anxieties within the player base regarding the game's current trajectory.
