Firaxis Games unveiled the post-launch roadmap for Sid Meier’s Civilization VII during a recent livestream. The roadmap details substantial updates planned throughout 2025, including several DLC packs featuring new Leaders, Civilizations, and Natural Wonders. Alongside paid DLC, free content will be released via patches and in-game events.
The first paid DLC, the Crossroads of the World Collection, is a two-part release. Part one (early March) includes Leader Ada Lovelace, four Natural Wonders, and the Carthage and Great Britain civilizations. Part two (late March) adds Leader Simon Bolivar and the Bulgaria and Nepal civilizations. March will also see the release of free content, including the Natural Wonder Battle event and Bermuda Triangle Natural Wonder (early March), and the Marvelous Mountains event and Mount Everest Natural Wonder (late March).
Later in the year, the Right Rule Collection (summer) will introduce two new leaders, four new civilizations, and four New World Wonders. Additional free content and updates are planned from April through September. Firaxis promises continued post-launch support from October 2025 onward. Specific release dates for all announced content are yet to be revealed.
A developer diary further detailed plans for future updates, including additions to multiplayer, larger multiplayer lobbies, increased map variety, and modding tools. These features will be rolled out as soon as possible, alongside bug fixes, balance adjustments, and quality-of-life improvements.
The livestream also showcased multiplayer gameplay, highlighting different strategic approaches to victory. A Q&A session addressed community questions.
