Nu Udra's Weaknesses and Strategies:

  • Habitat: Oilwell Basin
  • Breakable Parts: Head and Arms (severing arms yields extra materials)
  • Elemental Weakness: Water
  • Effective Status Effects: Poison (2x), Sleep (2x), Paralysis (1x), Blastblight (1x), Stun (2x), Exhaust (2x)
  • Effective Items: Pitfall Trap, Shock Trap, Watermoss

Melee Weapon Users: Focus your attacks on Nu Udra's tentacles. While powerful, they are the most accessible targets for melee combatants.

Ranged Weapon Users: Prioritize attacks on Nu Udra's mouth (4-star weakness). The head is a secondary target (3-star weakness to ammo, but effective for blunt and cut damage).

Countering Fire Attacks: Nu Udra utilizes fire attacks and can even ignite itself, inflicting Fireblight. Counter this by using Watermoss to extinguish the flames and create a safer attacking window.

Essential Gear: Equip fire-resistant armor, such as the Quematrice set (possessing the Fire Resistance skill). Fire Res Jewels and Stream Jewels (for increased Water Attack) are valuable additions.

Avoiding the Grab Attack: Nu Udra's grab attack is particularly dangerous. If grabbed, quickly use a knife to escape or utilize your Slinger to attack its weak point during the brief pause before the fire blast.

To capture Nu Udra, prepare a Pitfall or Shock Trap. Wait until the monster is significantly weakened (indicated by a skull icon next to its health bar) before deploying the trap. Lure it into the trap using meat or by strategically positioning yourself. Once trapped, quickly use a Tranquilizer to subdue it (you have approximately five seconds before it breaks free).

Multiplayer Advantage: Confronting Nu Udra solo is challenging. Consider utilizing multiplayer for a significantly easier hunt.

Monster Hunter Wilds is available now on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
