Neowiz and Gamfs N have released the first content update for Brown Dust 2 since its 1.5-year anniversary celebration in December. Dubbed "Onsen Training," this update brings a fiery dose of Japanese winter hot spring action to the game, complete with sword-fighting battles, quirky challenges, and a healthy dose of monkey mayhem.
Brown Dust 2: Onsen Training – Dive In!
This update introduces three new characters: Ventana, the story's protagonist, and Liberta, both available via the in-game pickup draw; and Blade, exclusive to the event's narrative.
The Onsen Training event story unfolds within the same universe as Brown Dust 2's Character Pack 1: Jayden's Gate, featuring 30 battles across 15 normal and 15 challenge modes. The adventure begins with Ventana, the Kendo Club captain, recovering from a surprising defeat at the hands of a new student, Justia. Seeking to regain her honor, Ventana journeys to a snowy mountain hot spring, rumored to boost physical strength. However, her training is disrupted by mischievous Snowy Mountain Monkeys, leading to an unexpected encounter with Blade, a legendary Kendo Club graduate, who initially refuses to train her. Liberta, the hot spring manager, steps in, promising to help Ventana secure Blade's tutelage.
A New Mini-Game: Onsen Tile Tactics
This time-limited tile-clearing mini-game adds another layer of challenge. The event story is divided into phases: Legendary Graduate (week one), and Beyond Legend (week three). Players will face returning and new bosses, including the returning Giant Rou (week one), and the formidable Snowy Mountain Tyrant (week three), a colossal monkey whose strength increases when targeting enemies with DoT effects. Additionally, the Guild Raid boss, Rucersingha, the Ruler of the Void, makes its debut, posing a significant challenge with devastating attacks and a high chain stack requirement.
New gear and costumes are also available. The Onsen Practitioner Ventana costume is available until January 30th, followed by the Onsen Manager Liberta costume, available until February 13th.
