Nintendo's Alarmo Alarm Clock: Wider Release and Features
Nintendo's interactive alarm clock, Alarmo, is expanding its retail availability in March 2025. Initially requiring a Nintendo Online membership, this restriction will be removed for the wider release. The device will be available at major retailers such as Target, Walmart, and GameStop, among others. Alarmo is priced at $99.99 USD.

The announcement follows a period of high demand, with Alarmo selling out quickly after its initial release. In Japan, sales were temporarily suspended and transitioned to a lottery system for Nintendo Online subscribers. Similar high demand was seen in some US locations.

Alarmo features charming game character interactions to gently rouse users from sleep. Users can select from 42 scenes featuring characters from popular Nintendo franchises like Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Splatoon 3, with more to be added via free updates. The alarm intensifies if the user remains in bed too long, requiring them to get up to silence it. A motion sensor allows for silencing the alarm without touching the device.

Beyond its core alarm function, Alarmo offers additional features such as hourly chimes, sleep sounds, and sleep pattern tracking. A "Button Mode" is recommended for households with multiple occupants or pets.

The expanded release in March 2025 makes Alarmo accessible to a broader audience, marking a significant step for this unique Nintendo product. The expanded release coincides with continued speculation regarding the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, though Nintendo has yet to officially comment.
