BG3 Patch 8 Is So Big, It Needs To Be Stress Tested

This update to the Patch 8 stress test addresses various bugs, crashes, and scripting errors. It also ensures Gale correctly interacts with magical items. The update is only available to those participating in the stress test. Players not involved will need to wait for the full Patch 8 release.

Improvements include: containers retaining contents when destroyed, improved screenshotting in Photo Mode for Steam Deck users, more responsive character poses, enhanced cross-play functionality, updated Booming Blade tooltip values, and several crash fixes. For a complete list of changes, visit the official Baldur's Gate 3 website.

Patch 8 is anticipated to be a massive update, marking one of the final major content additions before Larian moves on from Faerûn. It includes platform cross-play, over 12 new subclasses (like the Death Domain Cleric, Path of Giants Barbarian, and Arcane Archer Fighter), and the highly anticipated Photo Mode.

Photo Mode: Unleash Your Inner Photographer

While waiting for Patch 8, explore the in-depth Photo Mode preview video. Larian aims to help players maximize Photo Mode's potential from the start.

Access Photo Mode almost anywhere – during exploration, combat, and even in multiplayer (for the host). Customize character poses with or without party members, and even include extra elements like a jumping frog. The free-moving camera provides ultimate control over your shots.

Add post-processing effects, stickers, and frames to personalize your images. Note that during dialogues and cutscenes, only post-processing effects are available.

This is just a preview; Larian plans to release further tips and tricks videos to inspire creativity.
