Bandai Namco Unveils Digimon Alysion: Digital Card Game

Bandai Namco is taking another exciting step into the mobile gaming world with the upcoming release of Digimon Alysion, a digital adaptation of the beloved Digimon Card Game. This free-to-play game is set to launch on both Android and iOS platforms, although an exact release date has yet to be announced.

The official announcement came during Digimon Con 2025 on March 19th. Alongside this exciting news, Bandai Namco shared updates on other projects, including the continuation of Digimon Liberator with a new arc in April 2025. They also celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Digimon anime with a special video and announced new ventures like Digimon Adventure: Beyond and the console and PC RPG, Digimon Story: Time Stranger.

Digimon Alysion: More Than Just a Card Game

Digimon Alysion isn’t merely a digital version of the physical Digimon Card Game. It introduces innovative 'DigiAly' cards, exclusive to this mobile edition, alongside the classic cards. Bandai Namco is also expanding the universe with new Digimon and characters, adding fresh layers to the game.

The character roster features an intriguing all-female cast, which is a unique choice for a digital card game. While this creative direction has sparked some skepticism among fans who were hoping for a more traditional adaptation, it certainly promises a novel experience.

Bandai Namco's previous attempts at Digimon mobile games have faced challenges, leading to some reservations about Digimon Alysion's potential success. However, the anticipation remains high, and a closed beta test is currently in the planning stages, though specifics are still undisclosed. For the latest updates, keep an eye on the official website and their X account.
