Nickelodeon and Avatar Studios unveil a new chapter in the Avatar universe: Avatar: Seven Havens. This exciting announcement coincides with the franchise's 20th anniversary, marking a significant milestone for creators Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko.

Avatar: Seven Havens, a 26-episode 2D animated series, introduces a new Avatar—a young Earthbender—following the events of Avatar Korra's story. The series is set in a post-cataclysmic world, where the Avatar's role is tragically reversed. Instead of a savior, she's seen as a harbinger of destruction, forcing her and her twin sibling to confront perilous threats from both human and spirit realms. Their journey will involve uncovering their mysterious heritage and safeguarding the Seven Havens before societal collapse.

DiMartino and Konietzko expressed their delight in continuing the Avatar saga, stating that the new series is brimming with fantasy, intrigue, and a captivating ensemble of characters. Seven Havens will be structured into two 13-episode seasons (Book 1 and Book 2), with DiMartino and Konietzko collaborating with executive producers Ethan Spaulding and Sehaj Sethi. Casting details are yet to be revealed.

This marks Avatar Studios' first major television series. The studio is also producing a feature-length animated film centered on Aang, scheduled for a theatrical release on January 30, 2026, showcasing Aang's adventures in adulthood.

Further enriching the 20th-anniversary celebrations, Avatar Studios has unveiled a range of new merchandise, including books, comics, concerts, toys, and a Roblox game.
