Ubisoft has officially announced the global release schedule for Assassin's Creed Shadows.
Breaking from the pattern of previous titles and Ubisoft’s standard approach, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will launch simultaneously worldwide on a single, specific date. Early access is not available for purchase.
The game releases on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S at 12 AM local time on March 20. However, the PC launch times differ depending on whether you purchase the game through Steam or Ubisoft's Ubi Connect platform.
Pre-loading is currently available on Xbox Series X and S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows faces significant pressure to succeed for Ubisoft, following multiple delays and the lower-than-expected sales of last year’s Star Wars Outlaws. The company has also encountered several high-profile setbacks, including layoffs, studio closures, and game cancellations leading up to this launch.
IGN's Assassin’s Creed Shadows review scored an 8/10. The review stated: “Assassin’s Creed Shadows refines its core mechanics to deliver one of the finest iterations of the open-world formula the series has perfected over the past ten years.”
