Apex Legends has exciting news for its global community: the ALGS Year 4 Championships are set to take place in Sapporo, Japan! This marks a significant milestone as it will be the first offline ALGS tournament ever held in Asia. The championship will occur from January 29 to February 2, 2025, at the renowned Daiwa House PREMIST DOME, bringing together 40 teams of top-tier players to compete for the coveted title of Apex Legends' global esports champion.

Previously, ALGS events have been hosted in the US, UK, Sweden, and Germany, but this year, the focus shifts to the vibrant esports community in Asia. "This year will be extra special as we are having our first LAN event in APAC," EA stated in their announcement. The excitement is palpable, especially among Japanese fans who have long requested such an event. EA's Senior Director of Esports, John Nelson, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "ALGS has a very large community in Japan, and we have seen many comments calling for an offline event in Japan. That's why we couldn't be more pleased to celebrate this milestone with an offline tournament held at the iconic Daiwa House Premist Dome."

Sapporo Mayor Katsuhiro Akimoto also shared his pride in hosting such a prestigious event, stating, "We are extremely honored that the Daiwa House Premist Dome has been selected as the venue for this global e-sports tournament. The entire city of Sapporo will be supporting your tournament and we would like to wholeheartedly welcome all the athletes, officials, and fans."
