With the Amazon Spring Sale in full swing, it's the perfect time to grab some of these hot sets before they're gone. My willpower crumbled faster than a 60 HP Basic facing off against a 390-damage Hydreigon ex.
My favorite part about the Surging Sparks set is the delightful chaos it brings. You’ve got chase cards that are worth grading, like the $432 Pikachu ex Special Illustration Rare. No typo here—the electric mouse is a powerhouse both as a collectible and in battle. Topaz Bolt can sweep nearly anything off the board, and Resolute Heart makes it tough to knock out.

Then there’s the Latias ex and Latios combo, which are like a romantic scene with their connected artwork. Latias is the rarer and more expensive twin, costing over $200. I guess being the older sibling comes with a higher price tag. Meanwhile, Milotic ex is out here posing like a supermodel with its light and shadow effects, while also being a formidable counter to Tera Pokémon.
My personal favorite? Ceruledge. It’s giving off neon fever dreams, and I mean that as a compliment. This is the first time its card has been valuable, and I believe illustrator Rond deserves a round of applause—or at least a coffee. Ceruledge may not be a top-tier Pokémon in competitive play, but with this art, I couldn’t care less.
If you’re a collector, the potential value is real. If you’re a player, some of these cards are game-changers on the battlefield. And if you just enjoy shiny things and the thrill of gambling $45 on cardboard, then welcome to the club. I’ve already opened one box and am now convincing myself that I "need" another one for research.
The bundle comes with six booster packs, so you’re not guaranteed any big hits, but with how quickly people are buying these up, I wouldn’t wait too long. Pikachu isn’t going to pull itself.
