Big news for fans of the Now You See Me franchise: the third installment, officially titled Now You See Me: Now You Don’t, is set to hit theaters on November 14, 2025, as confirmed by Adam Fogelson, chair of Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, during CinemaCon. But that's not all—Now You See Me 4 is also in development, promising more thrilling heists and magical illusions.
Director Ruben Fleischer, who has signed on to helm both the third and fourth films, brings his expertise to the franchise that has already grossed $700 million worldwide. Fleischer, known for his work on Zombieland, Uncharted, and Venom, is excited to reunite with stars Jesse Eisenberg and Woody Harrelson, who also featured in his debut film. The third film will also introduce a new generation of illusionists, including Justice Smith, Dominic Sessa, and Ariana Greenblatt, alongside Rosamund Pike.
The original cast, including Eisenberg, Harrelson, Isla Fisher, Dave Franco, and Morgan Freeman, brought the first two films to life. Bobby Cohen, the series' original developer and producer, will return to produce Now You See Me: Now You Don’t alongside Alex Kurtzman of Secret Hideout, with Meredith Wieck overseeing the project for Lionsgate.
Fogelson praised Fleischer's work, saying, “Ruben has delivered all of the twists and turns and sleight-of-hand that audiences expect from this franchise while upping the stakes and scale in every way. We can’t wait for audiences to discover what he’s done with the third film and thrilled he’ll be making even more magic with us.”
Fleischer himself expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “Directing Now You See Me: Now You Don’t was as much fun as making any movie in my career. It combines two of my favorite things — heist movies and magic — and working with this incredible cast was truly magical. Of course I want to keep it going.”
IGN's reviews of the previous films were mixed. The first film received a 6.3/10, with the review noting, “Now You See Me seemed so promising, but it squanders its cool cast and nifty premise on smarmy, shallow characters and a flimsy, nonsensical plot.” The sequel, Now You See Me 2, scored a 6.2, with the review stating, "Now You See Me 2 isn't the worst magic act in town, but it's all flash and no substance."
With the promise of more magic and heists on the horizon, fans of the Now You See Me series have much to look forward to.
