LEGO's foray into video games began nearly 31 years ago with LEGO Fun to Build on the SEGA Pico. Since then, games built around these iconic Danish bricks and minifigures have blossomed into a genre unto themselves, largely thanks to Traveller's Tales' addictive blend of action-platforming and the countless pop-culture franchises they've LEGO-fied.

Narrowing down the best was no easy feat, but we've compiled our Top 10 LEGO games of all time (so far!). Don't forget to check out the recently released LEGO Fortnite as well.

10. LEGO Island

No LEGO game list is complete without the 1997 PC classic, LEGO Island. Though its graphics might seem dated, the charm and nostalgic adventure remain. Stop a convict determined to destroy LEGO Island, brick by brick! Its diverse characters and surprisingly open world make for a comfortably engaging experience. It might be a bit tricky to find now, but a trip to LEGO Island is well worth the effort—just watch out for the Brickster!

LEGO The Lord of the Rings cleverly uses audio clips from the films, creating a uniquely silly yet respectful experience. Witness Boromir's death scene with a comedic twist!
